What makes 78 Tarot different from other tarot decks?+
Every 78 Tarot deck features 78 different artists — one per card. Rather than a single artistic vision across all 78 cards, you get 78 distinct perspectives, styles, and imaginations unified by a shared theme. The result is a deck that feels alive in a uniquely collaborative way.
Are the decks suitable for beginners?+
Yes. While the artistic diversity can make the imagery richer and more complex than traditional decks, the full illustrated minor arcana and the accompanying card meanings make our decks genuinely accessible to beginners. Many people find the variety of artistic styles actually helps them connect with the cards more deeply.
Why are some decks out of print?+
Every 78 Tarot deck is a limited edition, funded through Kickstarter. We print exactly the number of copies the campaign supports and do not reprint. This is a genuine commitment, not a marketing tactic — each deck is a unique historical collaboration between a specific group of artists, and reprinting would dilute that specificity.
Can I find out-of-print decks anywhere?+
Out-of-print 78 Tarot decks occasionally appear on the secondary market through platforms like eBay, Etsy, or tarot collector communities. Prices vary significantly based on edition rarity and condition.
How do I apply to be an artist in a future deck?+
We announce calls for artists through our newsletter and social media channels. When a new deck cycle opens, we review applications from artists worldwide. The best way to be notified is to subscribe to our newsletter.
How many artists have contributed to 78 Tarot projects?+
Over 700 artists have contributed to 78 Tarot decks since the first edition in 2014. With nine decks produced, each featuring 78 artists, and accounting for some artists appearing in multiple decks, our global creative community spans dozens of countries and artistic traditions.
Who writes the card meanings?+
All card meanings for 78 Tarot decks are written by co-author Trish Sullivan, who brings deep tarot knowledge and an accessible, resonant writing style to every deck.
Are there digital versions of the decks?+
Currently, 78 Tarot produces physical decks only. We do not offer digital app versions of our decks.
Can I use 78 Tarot card images for my own readings or content?+
The artwork in all 78 Tarot decks is copyright of the individual artists and 78 Tarot. Please contact us for licensing inquiries. We support tarot readers and content creators sharing images in educational and review contexts with proper attribution.
