Death
A skeletal figure in black armor rides a white horse, carrying a black flag adorned with a white rose. Before him, all classes of people fall or bow — a king, a child, a maiden, a bishop. The sun rises between two towers in the background: beyond every ending, a dawn. Death is not the final card in the tarot; it is the midpoint of transformation.
Upright Meaning
Something significant is ending — and from that ending, something new must come. The Death card rarely predicts physical death; it signals the death of an old identity, a relationship chapter, a belief, or a way of living. The grief of this ending is real, but so is what awaits on the other side. Let it go completely, and transform.
Reversed Meaning
Resistance to necessary change, clinging to what has already ended, or an incomplete transformation. The death that needs to happen has been postponed — at great personal cost. The stagnation you feel is the price of not letting go.
♥ Death in Love
A relationship is transforming fundamentally — or ending so something better can begin. This is rarely easy, but it is necessary. What no longer serves both of you must be released.
◈ Death in Career
The end of a career chapter — a job, a role, an industry. This is not failure; this is evolution. The next chapter cannot begin until this one is truly closed.
Daily Affirmation
"I release the old with gratitude and step into transformation with courage."
